How many times did they say: Gabe is hispanic + Melissa is a mom of 5

Honestly the judges and hosts kept bringing up the fact that Gabe is hispanic and Melissa is a mother of 5 how many times during a 1 hour show? Wow, that was annoying. We're we going to forget those facts or something?

Gabe said something like he just wanted to play country music for everybody, meaning I'm not just a hispanic guy. Rich's constant comments about his race are just another in a handful of reasons I'd like to see Rich punched dead in the face. Hard enough to knock that dumb moustache off. Then again, maybe the writers pushed everyone to say these things.

Remember Freddy Fender? It's been a long time since a Latino topped the country chart. I hope Gabe gets signed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freddy_Fender
Nothing against Melissa, but Wynonna's still alive and kickin'.

Rick Trevino had a couple of good years in the early to mid 90s. Six top ten hits, including a number 1 and a number 2. "Learning As You Go" hit number 2, and "Running Out of Reasons To Run" made it to the top, both in 1996. So it's only been 12 yeas since a Hispanic topped the country charts.

It was very annoying...they kept on and on about it, the contestants were starting to get embarrassed, especially Gabe...

I don't think Melissa was getting sick of flounting her 5 kids, and I got really sick of her. I have been for Gabe from the beginning, because I love his voice and his good attitude, but I rooted for him even more during the last couple of weeks because his reason for wanting to win is so he could perform country music, but Melissa wanted to win because it would send her kids to college - desire for money and fame shouldn't trump the desire to be a great musician and performer.

If I were a betting man I would say Melissa wanted to win to get away from the five kids.

Yes

As for the repetitive nature of things, they kept mentioning Shawn Mayer leaving the boyfriend in Iowa. It wasn't as often but they rarely passed up a chance to shove that in the public's face.

Yes, the Shawn Mayer thing about the leaving the boyfriend was also tiresome. We get it, you left your boyfriend to follow your dream, whatever. He wasn't that important if you broke up with him to be on Nashville Star.
