Awesome + True Movie

This move is realistic, awesome and a must see.
I think we need to hide the kissing scene so that all desi families can see it with offence.

Its true and tragic that this happened.

TO the Pakistanis and muslims they will always justify their actions, but which GOd would want other women to be kidnapped, enslaved, r@ped after having their men slaughtered.

Though you are not being partial, you are definitely generalizing, which is not a good thing and not the message of the film.

I loved this film too, because it showed in such a beautiful but honest way what blind extremism does to people, and a community as a whole. I have watched it three times: once in the cinema, and two times when it was aired on national television in The Netherlands, and each time it gets better and moves me more and more. It is excellent, and Sabiha Sumar seems to have an great understanding of cinematic storytelling. I hope she makes more movies!

To Jshaker-1, regarding this quotation:

"TO the Pakistanis and muslims they will always justify their actions, but which GOd would want other women to be kidnapped, enslaved, r@ped after having their men slaughtered."

Let he who is without sin cast the 1st stone. That was the same thing that was done by "European civilizations" for the longest time. It usually was not publicized though.

However, there is a movie made in 1900's, called "The Trojan Women" and it is totally all about the same thing being done to the Trojan women. In any war the winning side would kill all males, and take the females and absorb them into their group, through rape, slavery, etc. In the movie I mentioned the women of Troy are trying to hide a male child who the Greeks missed. I believe that they all jump off cliffs at the end of movie.

The story of Troy was real, but the Greeks tried to destroy Troy numerous times, and previously had allowed males to survive, they movie shows how they finally succeeded in wiping them out.

Males believe thet if they kidnap, enslave, rape the women of another group, that these women will always succumb to their captors.

IT IS NOT A RELIGIOUS THING - IT IS A MALE THING.

reply

Faith and nationality matters not. To conquer, dominate, enslave, and rape is definitely a male thing. Century after century. Furthermore, blind allegiance to any extremist belief system is toxic.

No, you're not being partial; you're being a bigoted racist. And evidently the point of this movie just flew right over your hate-filled head.
