5th at BO on opening, falling 69% in it's second week. World Wide Gross may have paid everyone's salaries but with promotion factored in this probably didn't have a ROI.
I don't see what the problem with this movie is. Sexy actress. Start of the wave of Marvel movies that have defined the box office for the past decade. It got bad reviews, but most agreed that Jennifer put in a solid performance.
I liked this better than Daredevil. Not saying this is the best marvel movie out there but it's ok.
shareI like Elektra, but I think they should have linked the movie more directly to Daredevil. The producers use the same character and star, but then do their level best to avoid any association with the earlier film, which IMO was a little silly.🐭

If it was released in 2015 it would have been a big success.
Remember. Studios balked at the thought of a Female solo superhero film for the longest time. Catwoman and Elektra both flopped.
Wonder Woman was a hit and we're now moving forward as it has been proven viable in the current climate.
As odd as it may sound today. I don't think cinema was ready for/wanted a Female superhero film in 2005.
