the first 4 minutes

Can anyone tell me what happens in the first 4 minutes? I started taping it on my dvr 4 minutes after it started and wanted to know if I missed anything involving the plot.

They are dancing on top of a hill, waiting for the sun to come up. All three head home and drop off the girl. Eric Balfour and Colin Hanks head over to a diner. I saw it a long time ago, but I don't think there was much to the story line.

the opening scene is kind of a monolog by eric belfour, and it coincides with the plot, i suggest setting it to record the first five minutes you missed of the next showing.
