Great footage, but Definitely NOT worth the pricetag!!!

This looked like an interesting package when I first saw it, so I picked it up. Got home, watched the thing, and THEN re-thought what I did. For around fifty bucks (depends on where you get it from, thats an estimated average price...) you get ONE dvd, and a booklet that has pretty much NO in-depth info on Lynch or the films. The DVD has Mr. Lynch sitting behind a microphone, recollecting his experiences with making these films, followed by whichever short he was talking about. The films are very strange, VERY strange, but I found them very interesting.

Overall, it's a very cool DVD, but I would have preferred to buy it for something like ten dollars then what I actually paid. I might just copy it then sell it off just so I can get some of my wasted cash back.

hah ill buy one from you

reply

I hate to break this to you, but you can by his short films collection on ebay for a fraction of the price you paid.

reply

Yeah, but those are most likely bootlegs...

It will be in stores everywhere tomorrow 1-10-06. With a price tag of around $20, I am glad I waited.

Quick Question...

I went to amazon looking for this thing and they have the dvd in question, but without any booklet. Where did yours with the booklet included? (I was hoping the booklet would serve as commentary of some sort or a biography, but regardless, I'd love to puchase it with, rather than without the booklet. Let me know when you get the chance. Thank you

reply

The booklet is only available with the original release that's exclusively available from Davidlynch.com for a ridiculous amount. You could try to find a used copy on Ebay I guess.

On the one hand, I paid $30 at Tower Records (well, gift card) for this DVD.

On the other hand, I paid $5 for a brand-new copy of Blue Velvet.

...I think I came out even.

Mine seemed a bit bootleggish. The menu had some funky music playing over it. Is that the same on your ones?

But I got all the films so I don't care.

There's nothing in this a die hard lynch fan wouldn't have tracked down before, so you're right in a sense.
