Daphne does not sound like Daphne!

I'm sure Heather North is a talented and nice person, but she does NOT sound like Daphne. I'm glad they realized this and replaced her in the newer Scooby-Doo direct-to-video, DVD releases.

Heather North is the original Daphne. So she does sound like daphne because this movie was the first time in over 20 years the original cast was all back together

She was in seven of the twenty-five original episodes, but granted she was an original Daphne. Regardless, she just doesn't sound like Daphne now.

Even if she did once sound like Daphne, she doesn't sound like her now. People's voices change. My grandmother used to have a voice like a songbird, now she sounds like a wheezing accordion. She sounds nothing like she used to.

Thanks for the info on her being one of the original Daphne's.

With all due respect to her, I agree. She doesn't sound like Daphne at all and at times, she sounds like the actress probably sounds now - really old. At least, for someone around 20.

Heather North voiced the show during almost all of the original incarnations of the show (1970-85). The only year she didn't do was the first season. So she is the person who voiced the Daphne we all recognize.

But I agree, she doesn't sound like Daphne in this one. Nicole Jaffe, however, still sounds like Velma, 30 years after she last played her.
