Camilla Belle's Trilogy

Look. Camilla Belle could spend the next ten years where in every film she appears in she 1) wears a parka and sweat pants, 2) juggles and 3) recites Marx aloud. And every time I'm still gonna' pony up the cash for a pair of tickets and a large diet Coke with extra ice. Chances are I'll thank myself at the end of each picture. Yet...

...she had SUCH a good run of films in 2005. Straight outta' the gate and straight (I'm assuming) outta' high school. Along with her performances in "The Chumscrubber" and "The Quiet", "The Ballad of Jack and Rose" showcases CamB's talent for a wry smile, a penetrating stare and an ability to deliver a line that seamlessly sets up a fellow character's riposte. These three films are excellent examples of her work that I can easily find the time to watch again and again.

It doesn't hurt when the incomparable DDL is the male lead as well. Really well shot film...and a good story to back it up. Writer/Director Rebecca Miller deserves most of the credit for that. Great cast...great freakin' cast! Was touched by nearly all the performances.
