Stereotype

The part where Rodney was stuffing his face and had chocolate around his mouth was a little ridiculous. I think even fat people wipe their mouths (!) besides who eats like that? I don't know, maybe I'm overthinking it.

It was kind of a plot device (or possibly an awkward cut, since it seems like the mother might have called-out after being stung), but I imagine he would have been eating with great enthusiasm since he was on a forced liquid diet. On the other hand, since everyone in the film is psychologically odd, it was probably intentional. Most people put effort into fulfilling stereotypes.

I thought the same thing, he's like 18 or so, right? He shouldn't eat like a 5 year old. Plus you are telling me that neither of the girls would've told him he had chocolate on his face? I can see maybe Rose wouldn't think of such social conventions but I think Redberry would've. They could've used a more subtle way of having his mom find out, like maybe a wrapper sticking out of his pocket or something.
