I'm Sure This Has Been Discussed Before

One of my favorite scenes in the movie is the dinner scene. I think a lot of great points are made by Mark and Jason's characters. Quite frankly there are a lot of these kind of people who think that anything that involves even the tiniest amount of government planning automatically equals crude socialism. I'm probably sounding a lot like director David O. Russell (I will say I listened to commentary). Anybody else enjoy this scene?

Definitely one of the better scenes where we learn more about Mark's motivation. I agree people are paranoid about this, when successful things can come from gov't strategy. My favorite is the end scene where Jason sums up existence. This movie is definitely a trip.

Yeah. I've known a few people like that father. "How can oil be bad? God gave it to us." Richard Jenkins was hilarious.

reply

Off topic but why wasn't Jenkins credited? Anyone know?

reply

I agree it was the best scene

That was my favorite scene as well. That, of course, was before I saw this gem:

That is hilarious. I can't help but think it almost fits into the whole message of the movie, yet the director of the movie gets trapped in his own message of the movie he's making.....crazy people....leading crazy lives....hmmm...

I sometimes attemt to educate them with some facts and examples verbally (im not going to attack them or anything) but often they are too close-minded and dont listen.
