Car crash jump scene.

Have seen this technique used MANY times since this movie but I think this movie did it first. Its the scene where the camera cuts to passenger (or driver) and you are focused on the character, when within .25 of a second you see a car coming, dont have time to react, and it suddenly comes crashing through the car. Its an great technique but I feel its being a bit over used by now. I just came here after watching Season 5 of Dexter where it was used. Can anyone recall any others ? Ive seen it many times since.

You're right, it's used wuite a bit. I remember it being used in an episode of Law and Order: SVU, Daddy's Girls, Taken for Ransom and now a commercial about not texting/driving.

Agreed. The first time I saw this technique used in a movie it really shocked me. Your right about it being overused .... Now I barely flinch anytime I see it done. They even used it in 'Date Night' .... Perhaps trying to catch the viewer completely off-guard during a Rom-com.

Wondering too if it was first used in 'The Forgotten' .... Anyone know? Anyone?

Alias, one of the season finales. Countless others that I can't recall right now.
