Similar psychologist thriller

What are some other thrillers or dramas that feature psychologists, psychiatrists and their patients? Skip Hannibal(s), Basic Instinct, Good Will Hunting, Shutter Island and the other typical suggestions. Thx.

Flightplan with Jodie Foster. VERY similar.

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

reply

Flightplan?? I said Psychologist, not psychological. FP is more like psychological lite.

Similar story. People trying to convince her that her child wasn't on the plane. Sorry if you don't like the suggestion.

Oops, I did sound a little abrupt. I like the suggestion, but looking for movies where a shrink and his/her profession in center-stage.

In The Entity (1983), a woman is attacked by an unseen attacker in her sleep while a psychiatrist helps her. Martin Scorsese names this one of his favorite horror films.

David Mamet's 1987 film "House of Game" is about a psychiatrist being the victim of a con game that involves her patient.

House of Games. I was ready to look up Throne of Cards! Thanks for the reco! Hope I can find it.

Oddly, there's a movie I havent seen since I was a kid "To the ends of the earth," and it was just on some classic channel. I missed the scene of the slaves getting pulled overboard by the weight of each other chained together. Pretty gruesome for a kid to see.

I remember the Entity. The big pre-CGI special effect was using air jets to simulate the invisible entity squeezing the woman's boobs...and they showed it a lot.

Also, two old black-and-white movies involving psychiatry: Hitchcock's amnesia mystery "Spellbound", and split personality drama "The Three Faces of Eve".

Premonition 2007

I love this movie and I’ve met so many who hate. I saw in theaters and few people walked out because they were as confused as the main character. I honestly think that’s what makes so good. You like her want to know what the bleep is going on! It’s just so good. I watch it a few rimes a year.

The movie about a woman who’s husband dies but she wakes up and he’s alive again. That’s all I’ll say.

"The Mothman Prophecies" (2002) has some psychoanalyzing and is similar in tone with supernatural elements.

Passengers starring Anne Hathaway as a grief counsellor. Does that count as a psychologist? It has Patrick Wilson in it and has a similar vibe as The Forgotten.
