The central characters warrent another outing of this film, the concept is unique in that they can plan 100 of these heists and it would remain fresh and original, I think the chemistry between Rob, Sam and kevin was genius and can easily be repeated...
The more i watch this the more i like it, i just hope that someone important out there who liked the first can swing it to bring back the team!!!
The film was produced on an $8M budget, and benefitted the costliest marketing push for any Canadian film (at least back then but I doubt it's been surpassed) but ended making less than a million at the Box-Office. Hence Alliance Atlantis will not finance another, and if THEY don't then nobody will (at least nobody that can afford it), not even Lions Gate.

Shame the numbers don't add up, the law of diminishing returns is against this movie being made BUT for all its on screen chemistry with all teh stars and a great storyline the Sequel would work and there is the possibility of getting another studio or investor onboard.

I loved it and have the dvd. It's a great caper movie and very rewatchable.
Some movies just don't seem to do good at the box office no matter how good they are.
It can be a combination of factors.Like how much advertising , the timing of the release and other things. Conversely movies that are total crqap can be big box office movies .
Where are you from? If you are either Canadian or American, you should know that it is virtually impossible for a Canadian movie to get a wide release in the United States.
