Rob: Good or Bad?? (Spoilers)

Okay so was Rob (I think that is his name) really bad all the time? Did he take Leo's money because he was greedy and then saw what he was doing was wrong and helped with the plan with the elevator at the end. Or was it all a set up from the beginning- he never was going bad, it was all to fool Leo?

At what point was he really against Kevin and Sam, and when did he become good. He was obviously good when he "acided" the elevator cables to make sure the proper ones sizzled first so Kevin could ride the cables up with Sam.

Thanks!

i was under the impression it was planned from the beginning. He was the one of them that could make Leo believe that he was going become a thug and join with Leo. Atleast thats what i think, i could be wrong of course

So you're the coolest guy at Shenanigans, Thats like being the smartest guy with Down Syndrome!

i agree with Demarates that rob wanted to do a real job, get some money out of it but they didn't want to get caught. for that, you need a foolproof plan, on which part they're experts, but it's even better if the police gets someone, because then they stop looking : so they need a fall guy, and that's where leo is necessary.

maybe even the hamish heist was part of the plan: kevin watching the building too long so he would be noticed, or how they talked about their plans in a public bar. like they were trying to get leo's attention, all 3, in on it since day 1.

Better to be silent and be thought a fool than to speak up and leave no doubt

But when Leo showed up Rob was FREAKING out! And while I really like Rob, and I do love him as he was a nice character and Joris was nifty in it, I don't think Rob was that great an actor.

i believe he's good from beginning to the end. they figured out a foolproof and it was to set Leo up. and rod is the key figure in the scence. and the end, they say "We did it" and sam says to rod "no, you did". i think it clears shows that the set up thing.

Kevins mentions a few time that all the angles have to be covered. Meaning he probably figured Leo would try turn the weakest of them against the others. Hence having Rob appeared to be easily bought out.

Holy Kleenex, Batman! It was right under our nose and we blew it!

If you notice, when Rob discovers Kev & Sam in Leos cellar and he gives them the speech ....when he turns away to follow Leo out he gives a wry smile to Kev and Sam as if to say "we did it" or the plan is coming together.

I was under the impression that Rob was the one who informed Leo on the first (diamond) job.

I mean, I know Leo says his guys spotted Kev as we was scoping the place, but I thought that was just a lie by Leo to cover the fact that Rob was in cahootz (no idea how to spell that one) with Leo.

The way I see it, Rob was getting sick of "just pretending" to steal and was looking to take it to the next level.

I am not a complete idiot. Some parts are missing.

Rob was always on Kevin and Sam's side. They were buddies for years. I do think he was getting into doing an actual job though and was trying to keep on good terms with Leo. When Leo gave him an "ultimatum" probably, his side or theirs, he obviously had to fake to be on Leo's just to make sure things didn't turn really bad for him and his friends. Then he plotted to the end result.
