Okay I know Shelby was a bitch the whole movie and throughout the entire movie I hated her, but then when it got to the end, when Austin ran off the field and into the stands to kiss Sam, I felt so bad for her. I have this weird thing where I always end up feeling bad for the antagonist when they get their comeuppance.

It wasn't a breakup at the end?.he broke up with her in the diner and they never got back together...Shelby even said at the beginning of the game that her and Austin were almost back together but it wasn't official...I took that to mean she believed they were getting back together but I think (though I could be wrong) that it was just wishful thinking on her part as she believed that if she "broke" him and Sam up that he would come back to her.

I don't feel sorry for the jealous bitch Shelby at all. She humiliated Sam at the pep rally and had read her private emails. Austin obviously wasn't happy with her. Who cares if she was the "hottest" cheerleader? Her personality made her UGLY as the wicked witch of the west. She got exactly what she deserved at the end. Karma came back to bite her in the ass :)
