This is from Hollywood.com:

"A team of secret agents who discover their operation is compromised by moles."

That seems to be all that's out there at the moment.

There was a long article in the Studio magazine last summer, the following synopsis is taken from that article and the movie's official website http://www.agents-secrets.com/.

Vincent Cassel and Monica Bellucci play secret agents of the DGSE, two combat divers, send to Morocco for a special mission: to destroy the boat of a dealer of weapons and diamonds.

The movie has the atmosphere of James Bond and Spy Game. The daily life of these "terrorists of the state", ready to kill no matter what, without always knowing why, never being able to trust anybody, who only have the reason the state has given them to justify their acts but who can be victims themselves later on...

Sounds good, doesn't it??! And looks pretty promising too, check the teaser in the abovementioned page!

NO LOOSE ENDS

if a film only has good casts but not an interesting storyline, no matter how good/strong the casting is, it's not a good film

remember that, a film , casting don't need to be the best actors and actresses, only if the director find the right ppl to play the casts there, then it's good film.

if the big star (Celeb) only famous but bad skills (don't know if there are anyone like this but hongkong TV has a actress, flora chan, is popular, famous, win TV-watcher but skills very very bad) then find him/her for what? why not find some better ppl?

storyline is important than casting. see matrix 2 and 3! then you will know why I say that. good hi-tech but worse than 1, why why why? coz the casting is good but storyline is bad!

find the right one to be the role is rather better than seeing strong casting!

The most borring french movie i 've seen this year.

Five guys and one woman go to morroco to take down some weapons seller organisation, when coming back the girl has drug in her bag, she goes to jail, one guy die in france, one other is tracked by some bad guys, she kills someone in jail, she get out and go away with the tracked guy, end of the movie.

Conclusion: find something better to do with this part of your life

i saw the film last night at the Edinburgh International Film Festival but i'm afraid that i don't have any further information about the plot as there didn't seem to be one... it was fairly well made but if you are wanting to see a decent all round spy film then go and see the Bourne Supremacy.

Are they supposed to be playing lovers or a married couple or something? Or just strictly co-agents? In the trailer, it sort of looked like there was something beneath it all.

I have to say that this is definitely a very disappointing movie...when you read the synopsis and see the actors in the film, you have high hopes that it will be like a french bourne identity, but throughout the movie you are constantly anticipating some sort of culmination point, a scene that brings all the build up to a meaningful conclusion or at least some sort of action sequence. this is definitely not the case!!!

its constantly suspense, suspense, suspense...without any result.

are they so desperate to make a sequel to this anti-climactic crap?

I think it’s loosely based on the Rainbow Warrior affair

I saw this movie yesterday and I agree with those dissapointed by the weak plot.

It's mostly the old agents-betrayed-by-own-agency plot. Some scenes look for the detail in a spy work but there are still extreme exagerations in what the agents do.
Nice idea perhaps but the result is somewhat boring.

MrPavlov, I think you're right. Whether it was intentional or not, the film explores what might have happened if the French had murdered a citizen of country that couldn't be forced into submission with the threat of a ban on lamb exports (IIRC).

The world is in a sorry state when smaller countries, like New Zealand, have their superb police & judicial work subverted by crass economic threats.

I saw this film at the Edinburgh Film Festival 2004. At the time I thought it must be the 2nd of three parts; the only explanation for its crapness. But I have since come to think that there is no plot as such. The film just depicts a period of time in the lives of some secret agents. The film ends when that period of time is up, not when the plot reaches its conclusion (as is customary in films). If anything interesting happens during that time period, well then that's just a happy coincidence for those watching.

There was a similar idea in one of the Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy books (I think it was the fifth): Arthur finds himself on a planet where all books are 10,000 words (or some arbitrary limit) long and the book ends when that limit is reached.

the end!!
I was like WTF?

Yes, I thought the film ended quite suddenly. I was like "What??? That's it?". There didn't seem to be any link to the opening sequence where the guy gets killed after escaping from France to England by boat with a smart chip hidden in his Visa card, and subsequently his stomach. Is it simply to say "this is what secret agents get up to", and to introduce the agency?

I enjoyed watching it, because I was anticipating all the threads coming together in some kind of conclusion or explaination; but there wasn't one. They just drove into a tunnel, and the credits rolled!
