can someone help me out? ( regarding patches)

so, I have this game for the computer, and today I updated it with patches, but whenever I play the game, my characters don't move no matter what button I press. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Uh try reloading the game- it happens sometimes on my Vista/Compaq laptop when I minimize the game but it always comes right when I reload the game... if it worked fine without the patches then just reinstall the game without them.

The night is the best part of the whole day.
