Dantooine **Spoilers**

Okay, there are few things about the Dantooine Star Map scene which don't make sense the second time around.

The second time around, we know the Player is Revan and he/she has been there before. Okay, fine...but...

Why does Revan not understand the Rakatan language here, but understands it on the Rakatan planet where he crashes near the end? The One tells him he ripped the language from The One's mind so he could understand the species, while at the same time he put Basic into the Rakatan's minds so they could understand him. I could believe that Revan's loss of memory explains why he doesn't understand the Overseer Droid on Dantooine, BUT he later understands the Rakatan prisoner in the "the box" and understands the Rakatan when he lands again after finding all the maps.

If Revan and Malak were the first people the Overseer Droid saw in 25,000 years and presumably went through the same language cycling exercise before finding a language they both understood, why bother going back to the Rakatan language when Revan returned, only to go through the exercise again? AND the Jedi Nemo had just been there and probably spoke Basic (or at least probably didn't speak Rakatan). The last three people the Overseer Droid were humans speaking Basic, yet it started off with Revan (again) with Rakatan.

Was the Dantooine Jedi Council unaware of what the Rakatan ruins were? Did Revan and Malak force their way in the first time? Revan is unable to enter until the Council sends him on a mission there, then the doors open for him. This implies that Council can control who gets in and out, yet they themselves NEVER went in before sending Nemo in by himself? If they could open the doors at any point, are we to believe they were never once curious what was in there, in all the generations of Jedi living and working at the Enclave? It's not like it's hard to find and Malak even comments that he can feel how strong the Dark Side is there! I'd expect the council might have been interested in these Dark Side infested ruins sitting so close their Enclave, even to see if it's a threat at all or if they could rid the place of the Dark Side.

I haven't played for a while, but I'll take a guess.

This happens a lot when you do things in a different order than what was "supposedly" intended. I think the thing is you are "supposed" to go to Korriban last, after the revelation.

Probably for a security reason.

I think the council knew about it all along. They set up "the mysterious stranger" to find the star map in the ruins so they can give him the mission.

I can't speak for the world inside the magic box, but maybe when we see the flashback montage of scattered hints, it's basically, Revan remembering who he/she was, and therefore consciously remembering stuff like how to speak rakatan.

I don't think the council knew everything about the ruins; otherwise why would they deliberately set up one of their own to be killed, just in time for Revan to go back in? Obviously they knew something about the ruins, since Bastila was the one drawing the memories out; as she would have done at the council's instruction.

This is a good question and could have easily been fixed with a little bit of acknowledged hand-waving. Not really game breaking or jarring though.

Simple: Programming. The Overseer Droid doesn't seem like a fully sentient droid in control as much as the more modern droids in the series and the movies. It seems to be programmed to do a few certain things and that's it. Every time a new person comes in it probably starts in Rakatan and cycles through the languages in the same order.

I don't think the council controlled the ruins at all, it was just a game-play issue not allowing you to enter at first. Just because you can do something ingame doesn't mean that's how it happened in the story/lore. Sometimes sacrifices of the story must be made to conform to the gameplay. They very well couldn't let you find the star-map on your first voyage before you became a full fledged Padawan, now could they?
