Anyone get the feeling huge chunks were edited out?

I saw the original years ago, but can only remember the vampire kid at the window.

I've just seen the remake today and I was puzzled because either huge chunks were edited out or it was made that way.

What happened to the father of one of the dead kids? His wife turned into a vampire, but no word on him. I was intrigued by the dark-haired teenage girl who left her bra in the trash can, but why did she apparently fancy that disabled man? He was about 15 years older than her.

She later turned to him as a lover after they both became vampires. But we didn't see much of them after that? The girl's father said he saw the pair fly out the window. I DIDN'T SEE THAT! Was that edited out?

Also, what became of the young couple in the caravan who had the young baby??

Thanks if you can answer these questions.

I didn't read the book, but there was no evidence that Ruth like him but was more concerned about what people thought of her. You presume too much.

Also, you mentioned "the guy became more handsome, suave, and charming." That is more of the reason she joined him, otherwise she should have still cared about what people thought of her.

That and the fact they became vampires of course.

I disagree she didn't like him. I thought she did but was afraid what her friends would say. Maybe she saw him as a victim just like she was. They were both abused but in different ways.
