Hollywood got so excited that BARBER SHOP did so good that they had to make so many female hair movies that ALLL flopped... "nora hair salon, Beauty Shop, Hair Show, and NOW... SALON" WHY, HOLLYWOOD, WHY Hollywood, WHhhhhhy! Lord WHY!

I thought Beauty Shop was good but this movie was sooooo cheesy. It has it's funny parts but some of the acting is not great at all. Maybe i'll have a different view if I see it from the beginning.
shareThe barber/beauty shop concept is great and has good potential but no one has really hit a home run with it yet, besides Ice Cube. Someone needs to write a good script that doesnt try to copy every element of the previous movies. Seems like they all have the same things: soul train dance line, abusive/cheating boyfriend, ex-con, gay dudes, lease foreclosures, token white characters, etc. Sure these are things you actually find in black hair establishments but there are so many other things they can use to make a more original barber movie but no one has the guts to be different.
Actually Hair Show was pretty funny and had some good characters and actual creative hair show but it got ignored because it was lost in the shuffle of all the other cookie cutter beauty shop movies.
