The film portrays Tony/Stacey/Jay as kind of growing up together and then joining Zephyr, so I'm assuming that these 3 were close friends at an extremely young age.

Yeah they were friends (Tony and Jay were close back then) back then, but they pretty much went their seperate ways and aren't very close these days. Tony runs his shop in L.A.,Jay is in a half way house in Orange County,attends church and works a full time job, and Stacy continues to raise and support his son Austin with his music career, whilst he still does documetaries. They all still surf and skate.

I was Myspace friends with Jay's son, Seven, back in 2008 and asked him if his dad still talked to Tony and Stacy. He said that he didn't.
