Why aint Aussie films like this get better marketing?

You're not alone in criticising the marketing decisions (or lack thereof) of the AUS industry more broadly. That and a supposed lack of rigor in the screenplay development process are probably the two most common concerns raised by critics of the industry as a whole.

Both criticisms could reasonably be directed at this film. Certain plot developments were slightly more bewildering than one suspects they were intended to be. And, as for marketing, well, it may be significant that I only very dimly remember hearing the title once or twice a few years back. But I quite liked it despite its flaws.
