The most disturbing PG-13 movie

I watched when I was 15 y.o. and I got pretty traumatized.

And it's a *beep* fairy tale :)

I will admit that the horse eating the child and the gingerbread scene were pretty disturbing and also the scene where the kitten gets diced up.

And scene where Lena Headey pulls a rabbit's skin off... brrr

Could you repeat that?

reply

Well, duh, yeah! Unexpurgated fairy tales are some of the most horrifying stories anyone could read. Disney made nice G-rated movies based on fairy tales, all sanitized, cleaned up, and happy endings. The REAL tales would make your blood curdle (as happened to you when you were 15!) I had a book of Hans Christian Andersen when I was young, and I was so afraid, I was also traumatized - that was from the book, full of gruesome horrible things!

that doesn't explain why it was PG-13, it only makes it more odd.

That's Terry Gilliam for you!

The most disturbing PG-13 movie is The Ring. Hands down. I didn't even know it was PG-13 until years after I watched it and was shocked that it wasn't R.
