Question about Different versions

Hi..I recently ordered this great movie from a retailer in China. The version I received (Its the 25th anniversary DVD) was subtitled in English with the original Chinese Audio track.
As a kid, I remember owning a copy of the movie on an old VHS (REALLY bad quality!). But this old version had English dubbing and all these Western voices doing the characters. Does anyone remember this version?
The movie took on a whole different flavour with it, as I recall... it was actually rather funny in parts, I guess sort of made more "kiddified".

For example, the scene where the dragon king confronts Nezha's father about Nezha killing his son and says "I'd be angrier if he was older!"; the english voice dub went something like "IF he's only 7, WHAT would he do when he's EIGHT??" in a really comically exasperated tone!

My memory is defintely pretty bad on this one admittedly, so I may be off the mark. But does this English dubbed version exist? And if so..was it an edited version as well? It seemed as though the subtitled version had a couple more scenes.

The English sub-titles on the DVD are "literal"-- they give you what is said in Chinese without trying (much) to convey the style/tone of conversation. What the Dragon King was saying "I'd be angrier if he was older", he WAS speaking colloquially and using an comically exasperated voice-- what he meant was "what is he going to turn into when he grows older?!" 8^)

I own that dub.

Ahh, good stuff. I usede to love it as a kid...but it traumatized the H*LL out of me as a little five year old...especially since the version I had used to end RIGHT at the point after he slits his throat and collapses before his pet deer can bring him his weapons. I had no idea that it didn't end there till about a year ago heheh :D

I had watched the English-dubbed version and the original Chinese-version of the film online, on YouTube (the BBC dub) and on another video site (the original Chinese-version). I did not see why the BBC dub version suck! I think the only thing that stunk was the fake accents (I admit).
