one of my favourite movies of all time!

Mine too...tho'largely for Ealy's performance. The subject matter was gritty and negative, but it was based on a true to life novel written by Donald Goines. He died before his works became wellknown. Regardless of his topics... the man was a great storyteller. Goines spent his life battling his demons. I wonder how many critics on this board could manage to write several books while dealing with a heroin addiction. He wrote about his life experiences and things he saw during his tragic and sordid life. I think there's some thought about filming his life story, I'd like to see Ealy play that role.
