The New York Club kids clearly stole Bowery's style.
Heatherette owes their success to him!

I love Leigh Bowery...I have the documentary and the book. His style was so awesome. The reason it wasn't more popular is because he refused to sell any of his stuff..........

That's a big misconception. Although he hated the idea of someone boring wearing his designs, he did several collections in his brief lifetime.

The New York socialite Susanne Bartsch sold Leigh Bowery's Pakis from Space and Mincing Queens collections in her boutique, alongside early Gaultier and Westwood's first solo collections. Bowery also sold designs at Rachel Auburn's Spend Spend Spend.
