Only the last 4 minutes was really a hellraiser movie?

Was I the only one who thought this movie was not a Hellraiser movie? Its basically just another horror movie but they used the ideas from hellraiser. There is no scene of anyone opening a box (bar the last 4 minutes), there are NO CHAINS!!! there is no real appearance of the cenebotes, and nothing else that was established in the first movies.

And as for everyone who thinks it weird that its became a game, its is not that strange, if you think back to the second movie, the doctor knew all about hell, and pinhead, and the box, remember his book and models, and as you progress through the series the idea of the box becomes more widespread, so its not a surprise that it became a myth that no one believed in.

Over all its a good movie, (except for the final scene in the car which was just a stereotypical pop horror movie ending) but it is not a good hellraiser movie.

The game makes no sense in the ways its done. Who made it? Did Pinhead actually record soundbites for it? And then theres the Pinhea *beep* and Chatter mask lookign exactly right. And how did the Host connect his Party Flyers to the game if he had nothing to do with it? The plot is a mess and makes ZERO sense. When were the characters drugged?

We get a flash of scenes suggesting theyw ere drugged such as when the cards and needle in ehr arm... but thats very stupid. These happened apart at various times... in REALITY they would have to be drugged together, otherwise the others would, you know, notice their freidn collapse!

Huge plot holes, a messy script which makes no sense, Hellraiser as "real" and the ghost of Adam saving the day, at least it can be ignored as a "spin-off" set in the "real" world.

Actually, it can make sense for people to know what Pinhead looks like - he did go on a public rampage in Hellraiser 3.

The Hellworld game grew from myth, and Pinhead walking the streets killing people would be how they know his image.

It was around the same time that he recorded his voice for the game.

you just put more thought and logic into this post than the creators of 5-8

In my openion this movie is NOT hellraiser expet the last 4 minutes. Why was hellraisers name taken?
Because you throw in Pinhead for 2 lines of text it doesnt make it a hellraiser movie. Worst of the serie, the only one i didnt gave 10 stars.

The last 4 minutes where inexplicably a GHOST of Adam turns up to save the day (What!??!) and then The Host for no real reason suddenly ahs a REAL puzzle box (!?) which he then just happens to solve (despite the rets fo the film setting Helrlaiser up as fake) and then a gorup of chepa lookigj Cenobites just randomly appear (no lightning, opening walls or, well, ANYTHING) and then decide to slice him up in a weird anti-gravity way where his arms don't drop off for ages. And as the CGI mess dies Pinhead decides to become Freddy with the worst line ever... "How's that for a wake-up call" indeed. Oh and then Host-Ghost (copyright me, now, Host-Ghost will be HUGE!) randomly appears in a car to mess with their power steering. All very Hellraiser....

This movie was absolute garbage. I realize that all of the Hellraiser flicks have atrocious acting in them but seeing Pinhead for any length of time makes the movie worth it to me.

This last movie truly wasn't a HR movie save for the last 4 minutes that they tacked on in order to not have every HR fan feel ripped off for watching a movie about a retarded date rape scenario. I mean they never went into the plot at all. Why did the father get all murderous about the teens when he never cared to be there for him.

Just crap, crap, crap.

I just downloaded and watched all of the Hellraiser movies in like 2 goes over three days and their actually awful and the *beep* plotholes and unexplained scenes are in abundance and the only one worth anyones time is 1 and possibly 2.

I remember when the original came out. Being a horror buff I was awe stricken at the level of gore (not overdone either) and the realism (as real as a hellraiser movie *can* be). Then Hellbound came out and it remains in my top 5 horror flicks to this day. Hellworld is, from what I gather, what this generation of short to non-existant attention span fans want. Little to no plot, just Pinhead killing. And since when did he become a slasher villian? He's the keeper of the box, not a monster that stalks victims....the sex, or lackthereof was crappy, and the fear factor never happened. The main characters were 2 dimensional and I didn't care if they lived. As a matter of fact, I was praing they died so the movie would end.

I'm not a fan of Hellraisers 5-7. I like the old school ones. Hellworld I *thought* was a throwback to those movies......until I watched it and realized it was a throwback to horrid ones.

If you're faced with a dilemma on what to watch, I'd rent The Never Ending Story instead. Cause at least *that* movie has substance. On a scale of 1-10 stars, I give Hellraiser: Hellworld 1 1/2. And the only reason I gave it that much is because even though the movie sucked more than a Hoover, at least it tried, which is more than most so called *horror* flicks put out these days.

Peace,
X.

I was actually pretty excited for the first twenty minutes or so. I thought that doing a meta-spin on the series, similar to what the original Scream did with slashers, was a pretty clever idea, and I was looking forward to seeing at least a semi-clever take on Hellraiser's commercialization from a legitimate horror franchise into a bargain-basement direct-to-DVD crapfest. At the very least, I was looking forward to a bunch of clever fan references. Too bad the creative team didn't decide to do more with the "Hellraiser is real in more ways than one" concept. I think it could have made a pretty good movie and would've been a neat throwback to the open-secret mythos established in the first two films. It would've been a smart way to look at the trend of disaffection in youth culture and the value placed on irony vs. sincerity: A group of kids becoming obsessed with a game about Hell and then attending a secret, secluded party hosted in a convent-turned-torture chamber? The commentary could've been incredible.

The only good Hellraiser films are parts 1 and 2. And then the first half of part 4 is good until Pinhead shows up.

This movie would've worked better WITHOUT the Hellraiser stuff thrown in...seriously, it wasn't a bad little horror movie, just a TERRIBLE Hellraiser movie!

Pinhead putting stakes through people mouths and chopping off heads a la Jason........VERY Un-Pinhead like (even if the story reveals it WASN'T pinhead...they still got Doug Bradley to do the "Jason-style" scenes).

My expectations are on the floor for the last one...Revelations. This series is in dire need of a strong reboot...come on Clive!!!!!!!!!!
