when did pinhead turn into freddie?

seriously, i like nightmare on elm street, but pinhead was much creepier when he just appeared for a few minutes with his flying chains and weirdo friends. i don't really want to watch him make a dude chase his inhaler around. all he's missing is the one-liners, though we've only watched about 15 minutes...

He was a Freddy ripoff in part 3.

Arguably in part 3, after paramount took over. But you gotta remember: Freddy was top dog in 90-91 when this came out(?), and Paramount wanted THEIR own Freddy, so it is to be expected that when Pinhead went mainstream he would become a wisecracking baddy also.

You mean Dimension? Paramount has never been involved in these films and wasn't interested in movies like them (they even sold the rights to Jason to New Line). Also Freddie was also severely declining by 90-91.. Dimension has just never known what to do with this franchise. It's too bad. Could have been really good. Honestly, Bloodline, Inferno, Hellseeker, Deader and Hellworld are all terrible films not worth their direct to video releases, let alone Bloodline's theatrical release.

Lol ok, my VHS copy of hellraiser 3 is a paramount release, not the re released by dimension, and Freddy was not declining in popularity that much by 90 91, I grew up w/ the franchise, still have my Freddy's Dead theatrical poster from the era. And dimension didn't have the Hellraiser franchise at that point, it WAS Paramount, and they gave up Jason because the Friday the 13th films kept making substantially less and less as time went on. So are you trolling or just severely uninformed? If I am, I will admit it and say sorry, but as far as I know my facts are solid.
