Korean Peace Day

I was very moved by this documentary. I've seen only one other N. Korean documentary showing real N. Koreans in present Korea. Very educational and very entertaining. It's obvious that the English film crew was not allowed to film anything negative or anything that would reflect poorly on North Korea. Nevertheless, one can see how the people think and act. Perhaps they do not know any better.

I am an American Chinese so I am not sure why I am so interested in this topic, but for some strange reasons, it moves me. Especially watching the Middlesborough fans adopting the North Korean soccer team as their own. There were other moving moments in the film that lend to the idea that they are just as human as we are.

I highly recommend this film.

Yes, it was a great film, I saw at the SF Asian Film festiival a few years back, and met the filmmakers. Since Kim Jong Il is a movie freak, he's been allowing British filmakers to come to North Korea to put a positive spin on North Korean
society in this time of tension.

It was poignant to see the people of Middlesborough going to the hotel and fraternizing with the players, something you wouldn't see today.
