Von Trier and this movie

The last obstruction is by far the best.

Through out the rest of the movie Von Trier seems just like a little bit of a freak, but in the last obstruction he clearly shows his enormous genious, and his skill in understanding people.

Von Trier is truly a living legend, and most of all a GENIOUS!!

I'm not sure why I saw this film (seeing as how I am Japanese and know nothing of the directors that were in the film) but it was a really interesting experience. I probably didn't get the magic everyone else may have felt because of two, apparently famous, directors colaborating, but interesting none the less.

Personally, I thought the animation was the best (despite them hating animations for some reason). The visual arrangements (editing) was fantastic! The next best thing for me would probably be what they did in Bombay (though it may have been too literal for obeying the Obstruction).

I don't know why, but for some reason I can't remember much from the 3rd and 5th obstruction... Odd. Perhaps not enough impact. If memory serves me right, I believe Jørgen Leth had to say a narration about himself that was written by Lars Von...?

I can only say that the first one was a pain in the eye!

I guess I should watch these two director's films, especially Lars Von. "The Five Obstructions" just left me with an impression that Lars Von is a tad of a jerk (though creative), which is probably because I can't really feel much emotion by reading the subtitles... He just seemed too strict and out there, but I guess that's how it was supposed to be.
