Rape Scene

Rape scenes make me angry. However, the one in this movie shocked me more than making me feel anger. Yea, anger was still there but the shock overtook it.

The reason it shocked me was because it was unlike the other rape scenes I've seen. All of the other ones I've seen have had more physical violence than this one did. The Hills Have Eyes 1 and 2 (remakes), Leaving Las Vegas, and a few others. Their scenes weren't so shocking to me because the violence was a lead up. I seethe with anger when I see rape scenes.

Yet this one was so shocking to me because of the near lack of violence. It caught me so off guard that any anger I normally felt was dwarfed by the shock.

Guy. Why does that matter?

Not only do I feel exactly the same about this scene (and rape scenes in general), but if your screen name is the same as your real name, then I have the same first initial and last name that you do. Weird. I felt like I was seeing a message written by myself in the future. Apparently, a future where I've seen The Hills Have Eyes and Leaving Las Vegas.

Just had to point out the strangeness there.

Are you serious? Surely not!

Just in case you really believe what you wrote, I will enlighten you.

It does not matter that she knows him. Is it not a rape if the victim knows the rapist? It is not 'tough luck' if she changed her mind. She came to her senses and repeatedly asked him to stop. He had no right to continue, but forced himself on her anyway. It is a text book rape.

If she weighs the same as a duck, she's made of wood.

I do beg your pardon. When I entered into this conversation I incorrectly assumed you were an adult.
