Going since the '60s.
One can only assume that the detractors of the great Bazza have only recently sprouted pubic hair. He originated in the early 1960s voiced by one Ivan Owen , though the recent Basil Soper is a good voice ringer. Throughout the '60s he purveyed comedy which could be understood by kids and adults alike, much like 'The Simpsons'. In the early 2000s his 'stooge' was sexy Christopher Pizzey as Stephen - now relegated to crap adverts. B.B. is a national institution, though the broadening of the stories from one-to-one banter with the stooge to full-blown sitcom status have not always shone. He is nonetheless a star and his detractors are nonentities for their ignorance in appreciating that many British kids grew up alongside this comedy God.
