To all who say that Eloise is a brat

Guess what? Not all kids are cute, sweet little angels like Shirley Temple. In fact very few of them are. She's six years old, "...for Lord's sake". I thought it was a nice change to see a child heroine who is stubborn, loud and nosy but also sweet and caring.

"What happened to us, Kodos?"
"Quiet, you."

Also, in the actual Eloise books, she's supposed to be a bit bratty.

I don't equate Eloise with Dennis the Menace. Dennis the Mennace is sweet, but always manages to get into unintentional trouble. Alot of times he's trying to help, or he's just curious and his plan blows up in usually Mr. Wilson's face. Dennis the Menace reminds me more of Curious George. Eloise is just downright bad. She's totally disrespectful and selfish. I would prefer my daughter not to act that way, so I will not allow her to watch characters with that kind of attitude.

So, she's not like Dennis because Dennis doesn't mean to get into trouble but she does? At heart, Eloise always has other people in mind and always tries to help, but she just doesnt know how. That's the whole point of the books and movie. If you stopped looking down your nose for one second and actually looked at them as they are, you'd realize that.

And you dont want your daughter to be like that? You dont want her to help people? You dont want her to be curious? You dont want her to be strong willed, able to speak her mind, exceptionally bright and a lot of fun to be around? Yeah, you're a great mother arent you? Personally, I'm glad that I never had parents like you when I was growing up, and I hope that, despite all your best efforts, your daughter turns out that way anyways. It's what she deserves, whether or not you agree.

Eloise is very much like Dennis, in that both are inherently good decent kids wit the right intentions that go to pot either because they don't listen to adults or meddle with things they shouldn't. I do find that people tend to be more tolerant of a naughty but good-natured little boy than they are of a little girl behaving the same way.

And they're both cute little blondes.

People always accept boys' behavior on face value and demonize girls who act the same way.

Agreed. Also, I'd like to look at it this way -

Eloise wasn't just some 6-year-old; she's an Angel descendant(mother's a guidance-class Angel and father's a warrior-class), a pre-entrance exam initiate, an agent of Element Love who was tasked with a lifelong mission of bringing love to people deserve it, and she was dispatched to be on a mission to bring Rachel and William together...
