Yet They Decide To Make ANOTHER Crow!!!

Ok, so we all know 2-4 just flat out sucked! The Crow had this HUGE following & from there they decided to bank off the 1st...BAD IDEA!!! Look what happened...2 was sorta decent, but not worth the $....3 was just horrendous acting & story line & that crow was way tooooo cocky I wanted to strangle his ugly face off....then this one, 4, good Lord Almighty!!!! It was the worst piece of trash I'd ever laid eyes on, & as many times as I tried, I couldnt get thru the whole thing at once!(& Tara Reid sure didnt help!!) Just by the filming, you could obviously see how extremely low budget it was. So why not wait. Why not wait for the perfect plot, a great cast & crow, & a MUCH bigger filming budget! Maybe this new one will shed some new light on our much needed burnt out Crow flame. I personally dont know anything about it, but I can only hope they (someone) will come to their senses & not dissappoint us by releasing more garbage, cuz honestly, by this down-trend in sequels, I don't think I can handle anything worse than this!

If anybody has any info on the new film or if its really "in production" & realeased for 2010 (I believe it is) please inform us! Thx!

I think that its a remake

What's the point of a re-make? It's a complete insult to Brandon Lee. There's no way they're going to top a film that the lead star gave his life to finish. Nor should they try.

Hypothetically, if they make a "better" or more popular movie, then the original will be filed away as a curiosity with a bit of trivia about the terrible on set accident.

It's a heinous liberty.

The only way I could see this working, and preserve the dignity of Brandon Lee's death, is if they re-boot the Crow franchise but acknowledge that the "real" Crow was first around in the early 90s and this new Crow is just one of a line.

Better yet, leave it alone.

They will most likely ignore the graphic novel on which the crow is based and make it PG-13, in other words they will screw it up.

A new Crow film ?! Sure, if it's done well. What I don't get is in reviews to this in the Radio Times it says EF stars as the returned from the dead avenger (first played by Brandon Lee in 1994). Have they missed the point that in each film the Crow (the flappy bird) brings back to life someone who has been murdered to give them the opportunity to avenge their and their love ones. So it isn't the same character being played by different people, but different characters being given the same power of revenge from the grave. Thus EF is playing A rftd avenger and not THE rftd avenger (or atleast that's my understanding after reading iirc 3 of The Crow graphic novels.)

There's no topping the original.

I hate to say it, but hollywood doesn't give a d*mn about anyone who died or someone's legacy or if it's "insulting". If it makes a shred of money, they want it.

Brandon Lee didn't "give his life" for The Crow. In fact he didn't give a flying crap about The Crow. He was filming the movie, and an accident happened involving a faulty prop, resulting in his death. You are talking as if he said his prayers and willingly gave his life in order to make The Crow a meaningful part of cinema history. Just because he accidentally died during the film doesn't outlaw filmmakers from trying to make it in their own vision. Wicked Prayer was low budget yes, but for the budget it had it was a decent flick. Not as good as the original no, but decent. It not a "complete insult" to Brandon Lee, it's a movie for Gods sake.

Actually, Brandon cared a LOT about "The Crow" - making that movie meant a lot to him & even if he hadn't died during the last few days of filming, I'm sure it would've done quite well & launched him into the stratosphere in H'wood. But regarding the sequels, I don't find them to be an insult to Brandon in any way because they are different characters, which was part of the comic series - there are many different incarnations of the crow, some are even female. Ashe was his own character in "City of Angels," Alex was his own man in "Salvation" & Jimmy Cuervo, while the most similar IMO to Eric Draven, is a character unto himself in "Wicked Prayer." I liked all the sequels for what they were - different stories about people who became the crow - they would've most likely been made if Brandon had lived because "The Crow" was a series of stories, not just one story about one man. I thought "Wicked Prayer" was pretty good for such a low budget flick; sure, some of the acting could've been better but overall I dug it. The original is my all time favorite movie & I love pretty much anything to do with Brandon Lee's version but I don't find it fair that everyone bashes the sequels & says they're an insult to Brandon's memory. But I do agree with those who say a remake/reboot of the original should not be made - it's completely unnecessary & will never be as good as the original. No one will ever be able to capture the perfection of Brandon Lee as Eric Draven - that would be an insult not only to Brandon but to all the fans.

I agree that the second one was crap, but the third actually had a decent story up to the point when they introduced the cop that was into taxidermy and a sadist as well. The fourth was a fail as well as you stated.

Personally, I am kind of looking forward to a reboot of the Crow movie. It will be interesting to see if they get it right or not. Look at what was done for Batman - they took a franchise that went from halfway good to complete cheese and did a great job rebooting it into a more believable and exciting series.

Tara Reid wasn't in the 4th Crow! She is in the 3rd with Furlong! Kirsten Dunst is in the 4th. Get your facts right.

Plus I'm sure you are a lot uglier than Furlong and he would probably want to rip your face off too.

It's completely irrelevant and ridiculous to bash someone on their physical appearance when commenting on the Movie (his looks has *beep* all to do with his acting or the rating of this movie)-
Plus, I bet you had a crush on him in T2 playing John Connor!

Check your facts, and the dates;

1. The Crow (1994) -Brandon Lee, Michael Wincott, Bai Ling & Ernie Hudson
2. City of Angels (1996) - Vincent Price, Mia Kershner, Thomas Jane & Iggy Pop
3. Salvation (2000) - Eric Mabius, Kirsten Dunst, William Atherton & Fred Ward
4. Wicked Prayer (2005) - Edward Furlong, David Boreanaz, Dennis Hopper, Tara Reid

I'd say it's the script, director, cinematographer and editing at fault here as an episode of Buffy has more weight than this entire movie and with the exception of Edward Furlong & Tara Reid the rest of the cast have all proven themselves in other movies.
