I NEVER IN MY LIFE PURPOSEFULLY TURNED OFF A MOVIE AND NOT FINISHED WATCHING IT.
THIS WAS THE FIRST. I'M 27 YEARS OLD AND HAVE BEEN A MOVIE JUNKIE SINCE THE AGE OF 8.
I THINK I GOT HALFWAY THROUGH AND COULDN'T BEAR ANY MORE.
DENNIS HOPPER? AN EVIL GANGSTER RAPPER PRIEST?
ED FURLONGS HORRIBLE ACTING?
TARA REID? WHAT THE HELL?
IT GOT TO GOOFY AND TOTALLY MADE ME WONDER IF THE CREATORS OR ACTORS OF THIS MOVIE KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT JAMES O BARR OR THE FIRST MOVIE.

I WOULDN'T EVEN PISS ON THIS MOVIE IF IT WAS ON FIRE.
THE 1 AND ONLY MOVIE I KNEW COULDN'T GET BETTER AND TURNED IT OFF.
IT WAS PUTRID... RANK WITH STENCH, AND DOWN RIGHT WRETCHID !

I THINK THE ONLY FANS OF THIS MOVIE ARE PEOPLE WHO DONT KNOW WHAT GOOD ACTING IS. THRE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GOOD ACTING AND GOOD CHARACTER. JUST BECAUSE YOU LIKE A CHARACTER THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT THE ACTING IS GOOD. ITS MOSTLY THE ACTOR YOU LIKE. FANS OF CRAPPY SHOWS LIKE "BUFFY" WHO LIKE BAD LINES, CRAPPY FIGHTS WITH CHEESY SWOOSHING SOUND EFFECTS PUT ON POOR MARTIAL ARTS SKILLS,
WOULD LIKE THIS MOVIE. COMPARED TO THE FIRST ITS A DIRECT INSULT TO JAMES O BARR

Ok, i change my vote to an 8.

Seriously, I don't get it either, at least not THAT low, this movie WAS better than City of Angels, not by much, but the acting actually WAS better than COA, and Edward Furlong really didn't do that badly as the crow, the part that REALLY brought Wicked Prayer down, was honestly the attempt to combine so many theologies in one, had they just stuck to the native american themes, and kept anything christian to a low level, it probably would have been better, but the antichrist thing was just TOOO much. Believe me when i say I have seen bad movies, this was FAR from the worst I've seen, not perfect, but not the worst.

reply

Tsavo.. you may have a point. What always drug the film down to me was every time it felt like we were seeing something new.. they had come back and do some kind of call back to remind you it was a Crow movie.. i love the neo west setting.. but.. the makeup was beyond silly. I dug the idea of making a flawed crow who wasn't just innocent.. but had things to set right..even the bad guy was given some kind of a story on why he was so screwed up.. nevef really was there before..

reply

I actually thought Furlong was pretty good, it's just that Boreanaz, Hopper, Reid and even Trejo were pretty over the top.

the current rating is due to people voting without seeing the movie first. for me it was 10\10. i plan on reading the book it's based on too

Rob Zombie is one of the greatest directors today

reply

Don't bother reading the book if you are trying to find similarities between it and the film. 99% of this movie is completely different from the novel it's based on. The writer of that book refused a copy of the movie when it was offered to him because LITERALLY the only things they kept from the book were that it takes place in the West and someone is thrown inside a fridge. EVERYTHING ELSE--including names--was changed.

This movie is an abomination.

reply

okay nice to know how the novel writer felt about movie adaption changes. strange you say the fridge\human kill and west setting are actually in the book. i had thought Lance Mungia added that desert setting all by himself

reply

I might have been mistaken on that, actually. Point is, the book and movie are absolutely nothing alike.

reply

I wouldn't call it a 10.. But there was loads of potential in the film. What kills me is that somehow Salvation ranks higher. I truly don't get that, if anything I would switch the ratings between the two.
