It actually is still up on YouTube & I just saw it. I am, of course, still in shock (there is 10 minutes of my life I will never get back). I did not become an active watcher of the Oscars until the next year, by which time, some changes were definitely made.

While the idea of mixing old stars with new was commendable (ones like Cyd Charisse still looked great & I was amazed she could still dance & kick that high for her age), why on Earth did it have to be so freakin' gaudy? Hollywood may be a contender for the tackiest place on Earth, but why celebrate that fact? I am pretty sure most of the veteran stars caught in this quagmire of bad taste were more than a little repulsed by what was going on around them.

I know for a fact that Disney did threaten to sue ABC for the appropriation of the Snow White trademark, but did not. Yet they did win sort of a victory when they claimed that whenever the Oscars reshow parts of the 1988 Oscars, the Snow White segments could never be shown again. So whoever taped that clip & posted it on YouTube, you have a veritable goldmine of sorts.

So yes, the clip is still around on YouTube & easy to find.

And finally, it is just a wonder Rob Lowe still is able to work in the industry, for his work on this could probably have warranted a "You'll never work in this town again"-like blacklisting.

There was tiny clip on this past year's show in the montage.
