End *spoiler*

I will definitely need to watch this film again and I loved it but would just like to ask a slight question regarding the ending.

So we find out that the island they have been on all along is gibraltar (nice touch) but why does the glider take off all by itself? Have i missed something or was it used to symbolise freedom, seeing as no-one was obviously in flying it?

I'm sure that there is some symbolic message in there, but the explanation that the film gives is that the wind which blows (shown a few seconds before the glider takes off) picks it up and takes it to the sky. Hope that helps you out there!

Shua added a sail on the side of the glider. You can see it when he crashes it into the water. I think maybe its because the glider was shot, so maybe it can be powered by wind. After the sky turns blue the wind picks up and carries it into the sky, thanks to the sail. Just a thought, but it makes sense to me!
