Distribution

I was extremely disappointed that the Distribution company Verve as well as the marketing department of Carnaby Films could not negotiate one outlet between Leeds and Edinburgh to screen Spivs. The whole of the North East has a very active cinema audience but clearly not significant a venue as Falkirk according to Verve. If Brit films are to make any impact in the UK then surely the film makers must select those distributers who know how to reach audiences.

Simple fact is, they can't afford it. The Brits don't support the Brit film industry unless it's American funded, which is a very sad thing indeed.

I went to see Spivs on Friday- I was the only one in the cinema. It's actually quite disgusting how ignorant a lot of the British cinema-goers are.
