Touching + Moving

I could'nt help being moved by this movie with having over-wintered in Antarctica myself.

What a brave woman she must have been whilst out there, and what great friends she had at the South Pole to help her through what must have been a very difficult time.

When I saw this movie in the afternoon on W Network, I was thinking that this movie had been released in the theatre that was low on the radar. But the TV movie part has me understand why there wasn't that Hollywood cliche of Susuan Sarandon pairing up with that guy that got close with her, and instead he has a wife that's miles away. I'm happy that way even though the cliche expect them to get romantically involved.

I totally agree with you! Bravery at it's utmost. What a heroine!!
I had read a short story about Dr. Nielsen's ordeal in Guideposts. She's such an inspiration and an amazing woman!!
When they described the living conditions and what the effects of the environment have on the human body........ I cried for her.
ALL of these people are heroes for being able to overcome such HARSH elements and help her survive. Amazing!!!
Kudos to all.
And kudos to the Susan Sarandon for her portrayal.
This story is the most encouraging!
THANK YOU!

Just have seen the movie on a video (VHS) and though Dr. Nielsen is dead I think this is a great story wonderfully told and acted by Susan Sarandon. I simply loved it.
