Did the petitions work yet?

I know alot of people started topics like these, but that was pretty much a year ago. Have the petitions worked yet, is A&E considering the airing of a sequal to the hornblower series??

reply

Doesn't sound like it. I've noticed the Hornblower sites on A&E at least as of last month were no longer functioning. They probably need the room for one of those stupid reality shows, grrr.

reply

Gah! NOooooooooo! I remember hearing in the director's commentary that they were planning on doing ALL the books. So I've been waiting and waiting for them to do another episode. Are they really giving up on it?! That's horrible!!

If it doesn't have Paul McGann, Sean Gilder, and Robert Lindsay it just won't be Hornblower though!

I suspect the problem is that you have too many paperclips up your nose

I agree with that. I love the Hornblower series. I've watched A LOT of miniseries' before and this is by far the best hands down series ever.

Ioan Gruffudd, was on UK TV (Grahame Norton)and stated though he is happy to carry on, the American producers say it is too expensive, and no more will be made.

reply

Why does A&E have to be involved? If they are not interested in making more why not let meridian make it on their own?

I really hope Ioan can do it. This series has been so great. He is the perfect Hornblower :D

Absolutely he can handle it. He is a very skilled actor. He has shown that he can pull it off on TV, so why should a feature film be any different? I am keeping my fingers crossed that there will be a new film made. These movies were highly enjoyable.

reply

just hope this gets sorted soon as ioan is getting no younger and soon will be to old they would have to skip so many years of story to make it look right

reply

I do wish the Americans on here would take note.

This was not made by A and E (whoever they are). It is a British production. A and E are propbably just an American distributor with rights over there!
