can someone tell why Giovanna run down the stairs when the Bank guy was finally vacating ?
Did she run to go with him ? Or just tell something ?
I'm not able to interpret.

but the Background music was really nice. and the intensity of the scene made me think if she suddenly wanted to run WITH HIM !!!
That's the flavour of the drama. Giovanna was restraining herself, acting like she could endure it easily. When her friend provided her with a silent approbation, her suppressed emotions resonated and she ran down the flight of stairs. It's the art of moviemaking to leave the viewers with the thought of "what if". If she found Lorenzo, and left with him, maybe they would have been happy, or added to the pool of fighting couples. But showing that would make the movie deviate. The movie was not about their affair. It was about the magic of memories.
shareis it about the magic of memories?? she said she could not even remember lorenzo....but somehow she incorporated a lot of the old man's mannerisms or something she said lol.
i would guess it would be about human interactions and how it affects people.
she becomes a pastry chef because of the old man, she had an affair because her husband was away all week.
and like the old man's sacrifice, she was never gonna run away with lorenzo (but i guess she would have continued if he had stayed)
I agreed but she had an affair not because of husband.she is full-time peeping on him and him entertaining his various girlfriends.she's compare her to them and viciously lusting after him.
In one of the scene,after her daily night peeping in dark, she comes to bad with filippo and filippo make a move to make love to her and she told him not tonight, she was not in the mood.then filippo said to her that we make love once in the week and you are not in the mood.how come ? that shows her deception towards him.
In fact,after freshly peeping and lusting for lorenzo,she went to bed to fantasized about lorenzo. that's her favorite time pass at night cause during whole week filippo never been home at night and that's gave her the open field for peeping Lorenzo. Wandering in lustful thoughts of lorenzo, so that's why she wasn't in mood for make love to her husband.
she didn't love her husband, that was clear and after all that happened she desperately pines for Lorenzo,and running for lorenzo at the end proves that she wants him and if the met at that moment she certainly chose lorenzo. that scene reminds me of equally good Italian movie "I am love" and french flick "partit".they had the same passion for their lover at that particular sentimental time.For filippo, she neither have love or respect for him.she only stays for the sake of their kids and love of kids towards their father and vice versa.
she can fulfill her professional dreams being with lorenzo also.so that's director ploy to challenge viewers imaginations and that is the beauty of the films,interpretation of your own to how you take the aspects of characters actions and thinking's.
Well, Immortal truth of universe is "time". time will heal all the wounds,however deep it has.and that what's happened here.
