The play

I just finished seeing the play by the same name in Montreal. I didn't quite know what to expect going into the theatre, but I knew that if Robert Lebage was involved, I had high expectations. I was no dissapointed in the least.

Robert Lepage is a visual genius! I find it stunning that he's not more recognized outside of Québec. The play's final scene involved a giant mirror that gave one of the actors the illusion of floating on stage. Absolutely stunning!

I can't wait to see this movie, and how the two adaptations of the same story differ.

I too loved the play, which I saw in London, and I recently saw the movie at the Sydney Film Festival. Most aspects of the story and themes remain the same, with some sensible changes made to allow for the change of medium. All I can say is that the transition is successful; the play is trascendent, and so is the movie. Quite beautiful

Looks like this movie is getting mixed reviews that stretch from brilliant to utterly boring. I guess I'll find out myself on next Wednesday when I go see it.
