As cheesy as 'Night and Day'

And filled with about the same amount of Hollyweed hokum as that 'biopic'. Porter was GAY with a capital G and Linda was his 'beard'. This is about as truthful as the Buddy Hart movie (he and Porter used to compete for the new 'chorus boys'. Barrowman should have been playing the part. Anyway, at least the old Hollyweed version had some great singers. Something this one is seriously lacking.

i'm pretty sure the movie acknowledges he was gay, otherwise he wouldn't have had his marital arrangement with Linda. or are you just pissed that a movie doesn't depict him as no affection for his wife and totally 100 percent gay all the time, which very very few people are?

And Night and Day SUCKED.

I was surprised to learn -- through this movie -- that Monty Woolley, of "The Man Who Came to Dinner" fame, was gay.

Yes, she was his "beard" but he also spent 35 years of his life with her. It's reasonable to assume that he became attached to her. He was sexually attracted to men but emotionally he loved his wife and companion. Why is that "cheesy"?

Disagree, strongly, about the singers in this version. The singing cast and the orchestrations were sublime.
