that';s right based on this shows format write you own episode synopsis

here is mine it;s a halloween episode

Mac's friend has been invited to particpates in a contest spend one night in a haunted mansion and and she can bring one guest she chooses mac. Of course there are 4 other people who have also joined in. If you stay in the house the whole night you win 10 million dollarsm but when weird things start happening and one person get seriosuly injured it's up to Macgyver to find out what is really going on.

I actually wrote 6 episodes.

The pilot didnt give credit to
the writers and producers.
Paramount and WB had issues
over the rights.
I wasnt even aloud to see the
pilot and it was all shut down.

Eventually i found a copy.
It wasnt really that good
and not how i envisioned it
to begin with.

I really wanted to tie in those
episodes of MAC from the tv show
were he was a kid and with his
grandpa. Growing up in the 1950s
or what not. Showing how he learns
these things and how smart he was
as a child. Touched on in some of
the flashback episodes which showed
Mac as a kid in black and white
with his Grandpa.

It shouldnt be brought back
in this format if ever.

wait so your intial idea was really "young Macgyver"

similar to blood brothers?

With the bike and the shooting
and the hospital.

Been awhile since i wrote it,
or even saw that episode
because i dont have the dvds.

but yes. I then re wrote
the orginal script for
the young mac pilot.
WHICH didnt air. It
was re written a ton before
they filmed it. But the orginal
idea was not what they did.
It was what i did.

It was my idea and was different.
I wrote it in 1989 actually.
Then we did this one and re wrote
it in 1999 and they did their
thing with it later based
off some of my ideas with Clay.
I think they messed up this whole
uncle thing. Yeah i didnt come
up with that, and i did think
about having his son be in the
show but the show wasnt about
him doing what Angus did.
It was always going to be
someone else related, and
we find out later how the
agent was related. Perhaps
they wanted to do this with Clay
but that wasnt my orginal
choice.

WB didnt let us see the final cut.
So those of us who had a hold on it
didnt let it air because we didnt
get credit.
I had to get it from someone
who was nice enough to let me
get it since i worked on it.

Well Tom from What i saw. I loved it

Young Macgyver could of been a strtong show in it's own right and p[lus it's Macgyver.

i'm not one for continuality if it's a good story screw continuality. It's Called Retcon. comic books do this all the time I don't particualrly mind when films and tvshows do the same thing.

It was a great pilot and could of been a great show true i've only seen the last half of it but i had the biggest smile when Jared intoduced himself as Macgyver.

sigh if only wb took the chance Ironicaly i've shown the second half of the episode (available on the web) to varying friends of mine all of whcih (some of whcih never saw the orignal macgyver) aagree that had it been aparet of wb's nightly lineup they would of watched it each week all loved the episode and felt it was a good action adventure story.

but for some reason WB felt it lacked "spirit" (no they just wanted another teen dramidy like smallville or gilmour girls not an action packed hour shrugs)

I still say if the movie ever does get done Jared is really the only person who could replace Richard Dean Anderson as Angus Macgyver

but that is just me.

well enough of my rambling

thanks tom for your input BTW i'd love to read any of the scripts you had a hand in just beacue well I'm a huge macgyver fan
