Cancelled :-(

Apparently the show is being cancelled. They are going to film a few more episodes and then the show will be ended.
Whoever is/are in charge of programming, scheduling, and advertising at TLC is/are (a) complete moron(s).
The new crap they are putting on is just stupid. My only consolation on this is that most of the cast already have other things to do.
John has his design and some food place he opened with Leslie.
Leslie has the food place and a radio spot.
Andrew has his own business.
Mark is hosting "Ten Years Younger", is getting a new show on the Style Network, owns a boutique, has written several books, and writes a column for CosmoGirl.
Jason poses and writes for fitness magazines. His wife is a model and can bring in some money.
Chayse has her design thing going.
Nadia has a design business as well. I forget what her husband does.
Evan recently bought a house and got married, has his own renovation business, and is trying to record an album. His wife works for some shoe company or something so she's bringing home some bacon.

Hopefully their current ventures will be enough to sustain them when not on the show. At least now they will have more time to spend with their husbands/wives.

NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.I love WYWO

Nooo! I can't believe they cancelled it! What were they thinking? Did they give a reason? I thought this show would be around as long as Trading Spaces. Lately, it's a lot more entertaining. None of the other TLC shows interest me. That What Not to Wear show is horrendous. I saw the pilot and refused to watch another episode. I don't really like the shows they've been putting on lately like Wild Weddings or Ugliest Bathroom or Little People or any of those reality type shows. What's left if While You Were Out disappears? I imagine I'll stop watching TLC all together. Someone should tell TLC they're making a mistake.

There were huge changes in TLC management and I guess the new people at the helm didn't like WYWO because they started really shafting it. They stopped updating the official website. Most of the links are broken. They kept moving it around so that most fans didn't even know when the show was on anymore. They never advertise it. They show commercials for other shows ad nauseum (pun intended). During the first commercial break in WYWO last night they had maybe one or two actual ads for products and the rest were ads for other TLC programs. They didn't even mention that a new WYWO was coming on.
I was also really surprised that they had zero advertising for the Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp. They had all those celebrities yet didn't feel the need to even have one commercial for it. I'm guessing someone might have something against the cast or something. Either that or they are just callous.
I think Sandra knows the contact info to complain to TLC about their treatment of WYWO. I tried the feedback once and it responded with something like "Thank you for your interest in What Not To Wear". Which really pissed me off.
I feel really bad for the cast of WYWO because they are being treated so badly by TLC.
When WYWO is done showing new episodes I will never watch TLC again.

That really sucks. I hate when shows I like are treated so poorly by their networks. I didn't think I had to worry about TLC, but I guess I was wrong. I'm really disappointed in TLC for not seeing what a great show While You Were Out is. They have a hot funny talented host, ditto for the carpenters, and a bunch of designers who keep everything interesting. Plus the show often does episodes for speical causes. If they advertised for this show, maybe the people addicted to Extremem Makeover: Home Edition would tune in. I'm with you, I don't plan on watching TLC for anything but While You Were Out anymore. Too bad I don't have a Neilsen box. I could actually make a difference that way.

Wow. I'm not surprised. I saw two episodes and it didn't look like they did a whole lot, something the home depot could do on a weekend. In particular the one with the Phoenix pilot's backyard. There were barely any 'fun' moments, I'm pretty sure when the camera was off people were at each other's throats. None of the characters clicked well together and Evan seemed annoying bugging the carpenter and others when work was being done, all the while hurting morale.

Actually most of the cast were getting along pretty well, but I heard that Andrew DanJumbo was getting pretty stressed toward the end. I think one of the designers mentioned that they were told to play things up to make it seem like there was more drama than there really was. The homeowner from the plane backyard said she had a lot of fun. Sadly she had to sell the property and move. Plus some of the design didn't meet with codes in the area so the design had to be scrapped and certain things were auctioned of.
I think whoever was in charge decided to show more drama and less fun. They thought that would be more appealing.
From everything the designers said, Evan usually helped morale.
