Good lord was this a collassal piece of crap. Dont tell me I need to learn mandarin to enjoy this movie fully, or I need to see a longer cut, because what I did see was completely awful, I couldnt even finish it. And what the hell was with that scene with Jackie Chan and his wedding?? Someone actually posted how they liked that scene. A cameo is one thing, but all of the sudden this scene goes on for 10 minutes! It has nothing to do with the damn movie! My friend who was watching it with me asked me to turn it off, and this is a guy who relished watching bad movies on purpose, even in the theatre, and even he couldnt sit thru this.

I agree!! I saw the beginning and was "Wow, its pretty good," then towards the middle, I was forcing myself to watch it. The story was so stupid and the movie dragged on and on. Half of the things that happened in the movie was irrelevant to the plot. I recommend this movie if u wanna waste a few hours of ur life!

I agree wholeheartedly, this was the most annoying pathetic attempt at a movie and being associated with Jackie Chan and Donnie Yen could not save this, i really hated myself for renting this movie, it was so disjointed and i hated just about everyone in this movie, I can't believe they are already filming THE SEQUEL!!!! Jackie really is losing it, with this and Medallion, I swear i could not notice anything special with Donnie yen's choreography here (he must have just lent his name or something)

I can't imagine me enjoying this film even under the influence, and i like bad movies!! This isn't even worth the spit off of the movie "so close"

Personally I kind of enjoyed the weird non-sequiters to the plot, like the wedding scene... just kind of adds to the wackiness of the movie. Come on, it's just a dumb kung-fu movie. Enjoy it for what it is.

this one did pretty well in boxoffice in HOng Kong...since i thought Infernal affiar is great and did great in box office, i thought this one is probably gonna be ok...i guess i was just plainly stupid...it is indeed the worst film ever and my friend just told me that it is one of a great film...damn...i feel bad for myself wasting one and a half hour watch this crap...ahhh

You want bad? Watch "Battlefield Earth". Want bad and foreign? Watch "Pistol Opera," "Bangkok Dangerous," or "Versus."

I expect that most of the ppls who have seen this movie would be chinese. Just a word of advice: all HK movies are crap like this one. Srsly, this is one of the better ones. (with exception to Infernal Affairs coz it got pretty gd reviews....i wouldn't know, i haven't seen it)

Wow i just feel like crying when people say stupid idiotic things like these.

A word of advice for you.
Go out and watch waaay better Hong Kong movies like Hero, Crouching Tiger,
Hardboiled, The killer.
Need more good HK action flicks?
Fist of Legend etc...

Or possibly almost any Jackie Chan movie is better then this Twins Effect Crap.

This movie without any doubts is the WORST movie that ever being made. The title alone tell you how pathetic is this movie. I saw it and it was a completely piece of TRASH, all of the actors and actresses need to take an acting class before they could be in any movies.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon isn't a Hong Kong film, it's American.

You're right that it's not an HK film, but it's not American either. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is a Chinese film....it holds the record for being a foreign film with the most Oscar nominations. It's actually in Mandarin, which is the language most commonly spoken in mainland China. (Cantonese is spoken in HK)

This movie,it's half and half,this movie's actors are all cantonese and chinese,it's directed by Ang Lee,a Hong Kong director.

Ang Lee is a Taiwanese/American director. He is not a Hong Kong director. See his filmography and bio.

I say:

Whad ya mean all HK moveis are crap?! You trying to be racist or sommat, or are you just jealous that HK movies make it onto DVD and you're an aspiring (ahem, CRAP) film maker? You can't generalise HK movies based on the few that I *assume* you've seen.

You even go on to say that you don't think that Infernal Affairs is crap, but you've not even SEEN it, so how can you justify that?!

Pistol Opera was an artistic movie and it's not really an action movie.

Versus in no way was as worse then Twins Effect.

The action in twins effect was crap after the beginning and the story was just plain stupid. The action was no way as cool as Versus.

Versus is god compared to Twins Effect.

Not all hong kong films are bad. WKW has produced some of the best films in film history, Stephen CHow's later films are intelligent and witty, and they are really funny. When JOhn Woo was still in hong Kong, he created some great films so as LEE ANg...WAtch more Hong KOng movies be4 u say that they are all bad, i agree with u taht many of them are simply horrible, but just like most hollywood films are horrible, every once awhile they come up with really great stuff...this is same as hong kong movie industry.

I thought this was one of the best films ever - i obviously have different taste to everyone else as bamargera_rules says bangkok dangerous and verus are bad - i liked these too, not as much as this film as it was awesome!!
aznraverb0ii says hardboiled was good - i didn't even finish watching this, now i never stop watching a film, it just didn't grab me

This film had everything, vampires, love story, action, martial arts and jackie chan....I can't believe how many of you don't like it, sure it's not a serious film but it's fabulous fun.

Tried putting protege de rose noire on my rental list (assuming as i disagree with so many of you it will be great) but welovefilms.com doesn't stock it...never mind!!

Personally I found the movie to be rather enjoyable, in a goofy mindless sort of way. and Gillian Chung ....mmmmm she is one hot mammer jammer.

I'm with I liked it minority . It was entertaining and silly, nice fights scenes, the lovely twins, and a lot fecking better than Van Hellsing & T3.

im sorry are we all watching the same film i thought its was really good ok the SFX are a little behind the times but thats forgiveable at its heart i thought it was a really sweet Romao+Juliet style love story. mind you this is from the one person in the known universe who hates both "the matrix" (pretentious mumbo jumbo) and "Lord Of The Rings" (old fashioned eurocentric rubish, notice that the only non-white people in the entire series are bad guys)

I thought The Twins Effect and Versus were pretty cool, some lighthearted fun and a giggle. Sure, they don't exactly have an instantly understandable plot, but what movie does these days? Well, that's my two cents.

Dude, take a chill pill. If this movie sucks so much, why are you on the movie's forum? It seems like a waste of time on your behalf. And it just plain annoys everyone else. Go stroll around forums for movies you like, and stop screaming at us about sucky movies because of them having singers.

I have to say it was better than Van Helsing and T3 too. Mainly because those movies were very boring and this one was only boring.

I saw it last night. I didn't see the ending though (it had about a half hour more to go when I switched to another movie). I made an effort to get into this movie and in the beginning it wasn't that hard. But right around the time of Jackie Chan's intro I began to say "wtf???" The fight scenes were ok but nothing to tell my friends about to get them to see it. And I read someone said this movie was Hong Kong's answer to Blade. IF it is then that's pitiful.

I will say the WORST PARTS of this movie are A)when the duke vamp bares his "Fangs" while he's crouched on the altar, he looks like he is constipated and B.)whenever the twin tries to look "hard-dangerous-mad or whatever that look was. She looked like an angry kitten! It was hillarious!
