Why isnt this film listed in the imdb top 100 movies yet? It has got enough votes (> 2000) and a av. rating of 8.2
Does ist take some time or other special circumstances to join the top 250?

The only reason it isn't in the top 250 is because it doesn't have enough votes. In fact, it is only just missing out.
If this movie had 10,000 votes, it would have a weighted rank of 8.0. It just needs more votes.

(WR) = (4078 ÷ (4078 + 1300)) × 8.5 + (1300 ÷ (4078 + 1300)) × 6.7
Which works out:
WR = 8.06
The film in the #250 spot has a WR of 7.91
THIS FILM SHOULD BE IN THE TOP 250.

How is a regular voter defined?
shareOne who votes regularly..............I'm surprised not a lot of people have seen this film. Check out "Hidden Blade" almost the same as this at equal levels, plot, storyline and even characters. It's about a high rank samurai who was demoted because his father was blamed for a national project that went wrong and was asked to commit sepuku. The name of the title plays an important part :)......not sure if it's called "Hidden Blade" though. If you want the name just message me.
