Guy who looks like Werner Herzog?

Did anyone else think that the head teacher of the school (The one who expells Noi despite saying he 'always liked' him) Looked an awful lot like Werner Herzog, or is it just me? Not knowing much about the film, I was wondering if it was him, but I guess it wasn't (The directer said that the guy is an actor who is also an architect). But I googled Herzog and there is definatley a resemblence.

Anyone else think this, or am I going crazy?

"Oh, it's more than a hobby. A hobby should pass the time, not fill it."

He does, indeeed, have a fair resemblance to Herzog, but the principal is played by an Icelandic actor named Þorsteinn Gunnarsson. His IMDB profile is: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1662046/.

I would guess that most if not all of the cast has a job other than acting. Iceland is a country of only 300,000 people and it would be extremely difficult to make a living there off of acting alone. Most Icelandic movies, for obvious reasons, are very low budget. Which doesn't mean they aren't good. My brother, Robert McAtee, in LA, makes low budget movies and says being on a low budget forces you to be creative. The bulk of my favorite movies these days are indies, including some from Europe.

On an unrelated note, my Facebook friends list includes several people from this movie. Þröstur Leó Gunnarsson, who plays Kiddi, the title character's father, even sent me a very nice e-mail message, telling me that he had a great time making the movie and is glad that I like it so much. The movie definitely turned me on to the indie scene in a big way, even to the point of being involved in it.
