Slipknot didn't sell out, they just made their sound different to move with the changing tides of the metal scene. Also, Subliminal Verses is some of their best writing yet. If they hadn't done what they did when they did it, they would be stuck in a repetative, post Iowa sounding situation. The band nearly split up after Iowa, but when they came back together, the feeling between members was different, so the sound was different. Not "selling out" but evolution of the sound. Besides, ThE NaMeLeSs off of Vol 3 is the best song they've ever written.

On the LoG and Pantera thing, they are sellouts. Go down to hot-topic, you can find their *beep* everywhere. Now, lamb of god is nothing more than a lame hardcore singer with an okay metal band. Pantera, is and always will be good, but they have far escaladed into a "sell-out" status.

An updated list of non-sell out metal:
Hammerfall
Symphony-X
Dying Fetus
Iced Earth
Demons&Wizards
Sodom
Metal Church
Amon Amarth...god the list continues.

Don't fear death, for it defines you...

i never got into lamb of god, but they're supposed to be good so...

but if you've ever heard the live cd from slipknot, you can hear how cory's vocals
are dieing. The new cd might have just been because his vocals are just completely dead. like the guitar and drums all softened up because cory couldn't keep up. i know it sounds like i'm insulting him, but i'm not. i'm also saying his vocals won't heal for IF they make a new album. Some of the band members said they would, but some said no. Oh well...

if you like slipknot, try and watch 'Up To Our Necks: the unauthorized Slipknot Interview' slipknot's in it for 3 seconds, but it tells their lives. It's not on imdb, though it should.

reply

to people who think Slipknot sold out

no they didnt, Vol 3 was a test for them, acouple of post above is all the info

yes their 4th album will be out

2008, n it may be the last, hopefully they have some more power in em to keep goin,

Disasterpieces is one of the greatest DVDs, exactly like being their seeing em

Inside the nine was fantastic, unique and a good follow up to disasterpieces.
P.S, for the people who think they are Nu metal, not their not, they are metal
Vol 3 has several guitar solos, and corey dose fast pass vocals, not rap, thers under the nu metal genre, but ther not nu metal
i know this, coz ive read plenty of their interviews

slipkont are amazing why is it that when a band becomes more mainstream or sucessful everyone says they sold out. after iowa they were already a houshold name vol 3 would havs sold no matter what. Besides i dont think a band ever sat down and said hey lets make a middle of the road album to appeal to a wider audiance and make more money the contents of and album usualy reflect the emotions of the band (watch metallicas some kind of moster then listen to st.anger)
