What a lazy guy ...

off from Thanksgiving to April ... that is a hell of a vacation,
especially when you work one day a week for an hour.

Seriously, though the last year's shows were not that great,
I miss Bill Maher and his talk show format when he is on hiatus.

He probably doesn't just show up to host and then head home, ya know. He probably writes and produces the show. Also, the live show films for longer than an hour as it is.

Thanksgiving to April?

He just had a new show last Friday.

Yeah, I watched it. I was thinking of John Oliver, but still the many weeks Maher skips, and the whole month of December ... and I think another month off too during the year. It is like Carson when he used to have guest hosts and everyone hated it.

I have to admire Maher in that he hosts these shows live, and has the different phases of the show, plus Overtime. He puts himself out there in a way I think few consider, but when he slips and says something that offends some he is treated as if he planned it. I think it must be hard to do that show and he does a pretty good job.

I was being sarcastic saying he was lazy. I'd like him to do the show every week or more, but have some different people on. For example having Grover Norquist as a semi-regular and never asking him about the things he has said and done, just allowing him to seem like a nice normal guy, which he isn't, is not helpful to his political causes at all.
