Why not Chomsky as a guest?

Why hasn't Noam ever been on (politically incorrect or real time)?

reply

He's a very private person who has no interest in fame or personal appearances.

reply

True, but not extremely private.
He has been in many public debates, and been on Democracy Now getting interviewed. I doubt he gets many invitations for "news" shows, but i'm just surprised Bill has never mentioned it. Unless I missed something.

reply

It seems to me that he doesn't have any patience for people who disagree with him, that may explain it.

reply

that could be said about both of them :)

reply

I looked back, and Chomsky was interviewed on Real Time in Nov 2004...

reply

holy crap, you're right. Thanks for info. I dunno how my searches didn't find it before. Just found it on youtube and it's pretty good. I'm a bit surprised that Bill says he had never heard of Noam prior to 2004.

It's odd, I've heard multiple introductions given for Noam where the speakers say 'he is one the most quoted people alive today'. I don't know how that's true when it seems like 9/10 people have never even heard of him. (gotta thank the punk band Propagandhi for always having audio of him on their albums).

That's still a pretty big gap, 12 years going on 13. I guess they each figured once was enough. I'm not a socialist, but i like chomsky's opinions on some things.

And Maher might not want to hear any sort of criticism or negativity aimed at his Democratic choice H. Clinton, of which Chomsky would most certainly have to offer up to him. I'm definitely not a socialist either, but at least Chomsky doesn't(usually) suck up and play favorites with certain politicians the way Maher so unabashedly does on his show.
